How to request discharge of fine

You can request the discharge of a report directly to the Provincial Police of Pisa no later than 60 days after notification.

Discharge is only possible if the person concerned has not committed the infringement and/or is not the owner, or rather if the following conditions subsist.

1. From the photographic proof it turns out evident an error of transcription of the plate number

It is necessary to send by email/PEC or by registered mail a/r the request for discharge, attaching a copy of the vehicle registration certificate and an identity document of the titleholder of the report. After the appropriate checks, the Office will communicate to the user the discharge or rejection of the request.

2. The vehicle was not owned on the violation date

It is necessary to send by email/PEC or by registered mail a/r the request for discharge, attaching a copy of the vehicle registration certificate, an identity document of the titleholder of the report, the certificate of ownership and/or the contract of sale from which the details of the actual owner of the vehicle are unequivocally present. After the appropriate checks, the Office will communicate to the user the discharge or rejection of the request.

3. The vehicle was owned but on the date of the violation it was rented to another person

In the case of rent without a driver, carried out by persons practising this activity professionally and with vehicles specially intended for this use, the owner is the lessee (who hires the vehicle) instead of the lessor (who leases it). It is necessary to send by email/PEC or by registered mail a/r the request for discharge, attaching a copy of the rental contract with complete details of the lessee.

Please Note – Any acts of proxy to sell or generic statements of assumption of responsibility or loan of use of the vehicle will not be taken into account for the purposes of discharge.

If the discharge is rejected, the request will not be entitled to appeal and will therefore not be forwarded to the Prefect, unless explicitly requested written form.
